The European Finance Director position suddenly became vacant in the middle of the financial year. Celsius immediately needed to ensure continued group reporting, management of a five-person team, and uninterrupted dialogue with the parent company in the US – all while a new permanent manager was recruited.

NIS appointed an Interim Finance Director (Alexander Franzén) and a Head of Financial Control (Pontus Kaneberg) at short notice. The duo stabilized processes, improved reporting and cash flow management, delivered material to the parent company’s time-critical deadlines and provided management with proactive decision-making support. The assignment concluded with a documented handover to the newly recruited Finance Director role, ensuring long-term continuity.
When CelsiusNordic was without a Finance Director in the summer of 2024 – at the same time as the European finance function was to run budget and financial statements for four countries – important processes risked stalling. As a long-term partner, Celsius therefore contacted NIS for a quick interim solution.
In just a few weeks, NIS was able to present a tailor-made team: Alexander Franzén joined as Interim Finance Director and Pontus Kaneberg took on the role of Head of Financial Control. Both were seamlessly integrated into the existing finance team (Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller, Business Controller) and immediately created stability.
Alexander took a place in the European management team and was responsible for group reporting, cash flow forecasts, budget and risk management for Sweden, Finland, Norway and the UK. In parallel, he led monthly financial statements for the parent company in the US and ran cost and efficiency projects together with the sales, marketing and supply chain functions. Pontus further strengthened reporting through in-depth analyses and improved internal control.
The result was uninterrupted financial control, rapid adaptation to new requirements and a clear external perspective that gave management a better basis for decision-making. When the permanent recruitment was completed, Alexander and Pontus carried out a structured handover, which ensured continuity also in the long term.
