At the end of summer 2022, Mikko Sopanen, CFO of Endomines, contacted NIS and asked for help when their Business Controller was going on leave. To relieve the Group Controller, Endomines needed a partner who could handle both external and internal accounting. The goal of the collaboration was to develop financial processes and assist in several major projects.

Endomines is a modern mining company that engages in exploration and gold mining.

“It is important for us that our operations take into account the impact on the environment and people. Therefore, we increase the value of the company by developing the deposits we own into economically viable mines, according to the principles of sustainable mining,” says Endomines CEO Kari Vyhtinen.

What did we achieve?

NIS consultant Henna Kettunen joined the finance team at short notice. The additional resource proved invaluable when significant changes occurred in the company during the assignment: a reverse merger was implemented, the company’s registered office was moved from Sweden to Finland, and Endomines was also listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. Several development projects in finance were successfully completed in a short period of time, bringing new perspectives and supporting the finance team in an intense period of change.

Henna actively brought her own perspectives for process improvement and suggested solutions, many of which were implemented. Her previous experience in mergers was very useful in this assignment. In addition to the development projects, she also managed the daily finance processes. Henna quickly became an important part of the finance team during this period of change,” says Group Controller Heidi Salonaho.

The cooperation between Endomines and NIS flowed seamlessly. The finance team and the business received the support they needed during a busy autumn.
